Inspired by the Arlington Wreath Project, local organizations are working to place wreaths in veterans’ cemeteries throughout the nation on Dec. 15. In order to honor our veterans, the El Paso Composite Squadron, Civil Air Patrol is spearheading the local effort to place a wreath on every Soldier’s grave at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. The deadline to donate or purchase a wreath is Nov. 21.
Activities on Dec. 15 include the arrival of the Fort Bliss Wreaths and a dedication ceremony.
The wreaths will arrive at 7 a.m. and be unloaded and placed.
The dedication ceremony mirrors ceremonies worldwide beginning at 9:45 a.m.
Anyone interested in purchasing a wreath or volunteering to unload and place wreaths should contact the Civil Air Patrol, 239-6149.
