African-Americans and others are upset by the U.S. Army's new hairstyle rules.

The rules include a ban on many styles, this the ones seen in these pictures.

Many of the styles are considered popular among black women. Some are going so far as to call the changes racially biased with a lack of regard for ethnic hair.

A National Guard Sergeant has even started a White House petition asking the Obama administration to reconsider the new policy. Some 13,000 people have signed the petition so far.
