El Paso, TX (KDBC) — An alleged road rage incident in the city's Lower Valley last week has a local man behind bars
According to El Paso Police, officers responded to 8500 block of Delfina to a report of a subject with a gun. When they arrived, officers learned that a mother was driving her adult son home from work on Independence Street when they observed a white Chevrolet Trailblazer driving erratically.
The victim told police that the Chevrolet passed their vehicle and then began to stop in front of their vehicle. Police say the victims attempted to avoid a confrontation and allowed the Chevy to leave the area before they continued home.
Police identify the driver as 20-year-old Ismael Fonseca
Police add, "as the victims turned onto another street they observed the same Chevrolet Trailblazer stopped on the roadway. The victims then observed the driver reach out the window and point a handgun at them."
The victims told police that they attempted to get away from Fonseca, however he continued to follow them and then sideswiped their vehicle.
EPPD officials say that Fonseca was later identified as a "known gang member" by investigators and was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on charges of Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity.
