San Francisco, CA (CNN) — We're now learning more about the death of one of the passengers on the Asiana Airlines plane that crashed at San Francisco's airport.
The San Mateo Coroner's Office revealed, Friday, that 16-year-old Ye Meng Yuan died after being run over by a fire department vehicle that responded to the crash.
According to the coroner, she was alive when she was hit.
Police previously said she might have been hit by a fire truck after she was thrown from the plane as it crash-landed on July 6th.
San Francisco's fire chief called the incident "a tragic accident" and apologized to the girl's family.
