An El Paso dentist is fighting tooth decay. Dr. Paul Ro is once again the "Commander" of “Operation Sweet Tooth.”

For the past six years, Dr. Ro has been offering children $1 a pound for their Halloween candy. He then takes the candy and gives it to the Fort Bliss USO. Last year he donated 500 pounds of candy to soldiers. Dr. Ro said it is an incentive to make sure children don't eat all the treats they're given and rot their teeth.

"I think some is fine, but not constantly all day or eating it all at once so we can take some of the excess candy away and put it towards a good cause," said Dr. Ro.

Dr. Ro's office will be open on Saturday, November 2 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. where he'll be waiting for all candy donations. He'll then collect candy up until November 14th at his office from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
