El Paso, Texas (KDBC) — You've heard how much some El Pasoans hate the name of the new Triple A baseball team, but it turns out they do have more than a few fans. The team's new store downtown has had trouble keeping its shelves stocked, and fans who purchase merchandise from the web are being told it could take two weeks to get their t-shirts and ball caps due to a backlog.
"What we're being told is we're trending to be one of the best selling brands out of the gate that they've ever seen. We've basically run through probably two to two and a half months of inventory in six days," said Brad Taylor, General Manager of the new team.
So far fans from 37 states and four countries have purchased Chihuahua's gear.
The team also ranks 13th out of 30 Triple A baseball teams nationwide when it comes to Facebook fans. Many of those teams have been around for decades.
