EL PASO, Texas — It's not every day you get to see a comet in El Paso.
In fact, seeing the comet PANSTARRS is a once in a lifetime opportunity.
these images were captured from Mount Dale in Western Australia.
It's those spectacular sights, that El Pasoans lined up to see.
"Just knowing that this comet's coming from far deep in space and it has chemical compositions that we are not aware of here on earth," said El Paso Community College Student Jonathan Valenzuela.
It doesn't take a professional to spot this comet.
That's why Francisco Carreto taught students and members of the public how to spot the comet.
He's an astronomy lecturer at EPCC.
"It's amazing that we can see one comet in our lifetime," said Carreto. "So I'm trying to teach the people how to see the comet during all this week that its going to be visible".
There's a small window of time when you can see the PANSTARRS comet.
Each night this week, if you look to the West between 7:40 p.m. and 8:15, you should be able to see it.
