Copper thieves target homes under construction

Las Cruces police are searching for copper thieves believed to have ripped the wiring from the walls of several homes under construction in the West Mesa area of town.

Investigators believe the homes were broken into between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning.

The homes are under construction in a new development near Sonoma Ranch Blvd.

Police are offering a $1,000 reward for any information that leads to an arrest.
