Wednesday, March 31, 2010 - 10:25pm

After a standout career at James Madison University, Haley was chosen in the 4th round of the 1986 NFL Draft by the 49ers. A versatile defensive player, Haley began his career as a specialty outside linebacker, eventually progressing to pass-rusher and finally full-fledged defensive end. Playing for the San Francisco 49ers from 1986–1991, he won two Super Bowls following the 1988 and 1989 seasons, respectively. Haley was traded to the Cowboys during the 1992 off-season and won three more Super Bowls over the next four seasons.

In his 12 NFL seasons, Haley was selected to play in five Pro Bowls and was named to the NFL All-Pro team in 1990 and 1994. Haley also has the distinction of being the only player in NFL history to have won five Super Bowl rings (XXIII, XXIV, XXVII, XXVIII, XXX). In his 12 NFL seasons, Haley recorded 100.5 quarterback sacks, two interceptions (nine return yards), and eight fumble recoveries, which he returned for nine yards and a touchdown. Haley was a finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2010.

“We’re very excited to have Charles Haley headline our 2010 Sports and Health Expo,” said Brad Dubow, General Manager of Regent Broadcasting of El Paso. “His impact on the football field was legendary and I know many Cowboys and 49er fans in El Paso will be excited to meet a future Hall of Famer.”
