A jury of 6 men and 6 women continued deliberating on whether state judge Manuel Barraza is guilty of bribery. Barraza is accused of trading sex and money for a favorable ruling in his court.
The jury started the deliberation process of the trial Wednesday afternoon before being let go for the day at about 5:00 PM. They resumed deliberation again early Thursday morning. Several of Barraza's family members were seen walking inside the federal courthouse including his father, Manuel Barraza Sr.
Barraza Sr. said he hopes the jury will see all the evidence as a whole and realize the case against his son was brought forward by drug dealers who have had a record of lying.
