Herrera Earns AVCA All-Midwest Region Honorable Mention

Sophomore middle blocker Xitlali Herrera has been named to the AVCA All-Midwest Region honorable mention. This is the second postseason honor for Herrera who was also an All-Conference USA first team selection.

The sophomore started in 32 matches in 2011 and led the Miners in hitting percentage (.321), blocks (132) and kills (384). The Mexican native registered 11 double-doubles and recorded double-digit kill performances in 25 matches. The sophomore set a single-season standard in school annals ranking second in block assists with 121.
