Jordanian Country Also Faces Turmoil After Large Protests

JORDAN— Another U.S. ally is facing turmoil after Tunisian and Egyptian inspired protests have sprung up around the country.

After several large protests in Jordan, King Abdullah has appointed a new Prime Minister of Jordan after protests over food prices and poor living conditions.

King Abdullah appointed Marouf al-Bakhit as Prime Minister-Designate and ordered for him to take quick measures toward political reform.

Al-Bakhit was Jordan's premier from 2005 to 2007.
