This year's Wimbledon was a wild one. Roger Federer needed five sets to get out of the first round, John Isner won a 5th set 70-68, and even the Queen of England herself attended the tournament for the first time in more than 20 years.
The ones that survived were former champions. Serena Williams won her fourth Wimbledon title and Rafael Nadal returned from injury to win his second.
Nadal had been hampered by injuries last year, which prevented him from defending his title won so dramatically over Roger Federer back in 2008. Some injuries forced him into a five-set thriller earlier in this very tournament, but Nadal survived to win and was rolling so well that coming into the final the question wasn't whether he would win, but whether he'd win in straight sets. He did win in straight sets, 6-3, 7-5, 6-4.
