LAS VEGAS, NV— The concept “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas" could change very soon. In fact, you could get it to go.
A new vending machine in Las Vegas will now sell you bricks of gold. The “Gold-to-Go” vending machine at the Golden Nugget Casino sells the bars for as low as $60 a brick, and casino operators think they will have a high demand for these bricks.
The machine is only second in this country, the first debuting in Florida and the machine will sell you gold bars and coins. Customers can choose a single gram bar to a 1-ounce coin. Prices automatically adjust themselves every 10-minutes to reflect actual market value. A 1-ounce coin could actually be worth about $1,400. Operators of the vending machine in Florida said they have to refill the machine almost every 3 days.
The vending machine only accepts cash. And for those thinking of pulling a Grinch and stealing the machine, beware— the machine is gold plated, bolted to the ground, and quite impossible to move.
