DOÑA ANA COUNTY — A nationwide warrant was issued Monday morning for the arrest of a man who is alleged to have held his girlfriend against her will and threatened her with a .25 caliber semi-automatic handgun. The victim told investigators that Leon said he would kill her and himself if she called police.
Frank Martinez Leon, who also goes by Frank Martinez Lano, has been at large since Thursday and wanted on charges of false imprisonment, possession of a firearm by a felon, bribery of a witness, tampering with evidence, battery against a household member and interference with communication.
Investigators said Leon could be traveling in a 1992 Cadillac four-door Seville with Arizona plates ANS7771, or a blue Ford Taurus with Arizona plates AWD8949.
Leon’s last known address is in Prescott Valley, AZ, leading investigators to speculate he could be in the Prescott Valley or Phoenix area. He is described as six feet tall and weighs about 185 pounds.
Anyone with information on Leon’s whereabouts is asked to call the Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Department at (575) 525-8806.
