Tough Day for Former Miner in World Cup of Softball

Former UTEP Softball player Stacie Townsend to to the circle for Great Britain against Team USA, and it was Townsend who was left shaking her head after a nasty 4th inning. Townsend gave up 10 runs in the inning, in a 10- loss to Team USA (4-1). Great Britain ends the World Cup of Softball 1-4. Stacy May-Johnson hit a grand slam and Christi Orgeron had a three-run double, and the United States advanced to the World Cup of Softball championship game.

Townsend went 3.2 innings, gave up 8 hits, 7 earned runs, 3 walks, and also struckout three. Townsend played at UTEP from 2007-2010.
