UTEP Cheerleaders, Paydirt Pete Earn Berth to Championships

UTEP was well represented at the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) Collegiate Cheerleading training camp held in Las Vegas, Nev.

The UTEP cheerleaders won the Rally Routine competition and earned a silver paid bid to attend the 2012 NCA National Championship in Daytona Beach, Fla. The squad will be looking to defend the national title it claimed in April 2011.

Additionally Lamar Holmes and Sandra Valenzuela hit a perfect partner stunt routine to win the Top Gun Designation. Paydirt Pete won the best mascot, was named an NCA All-American mascot and also earned a bid to compete at the national championship.
