EL PASO, TX (KDBC) — People, jobs and money are the three elements boosting El Paso into the top 10 list of "America's Fastest-Growing Cities," based on data collection by Nerdwallet, a personal finance website offering advice on spending and travel.
Out of 475 cities researched under 2011 Census statistics, El Paso ranked 9th in population growth, job additions and income spikes. The site claimed good weather, recreation and entertainment, and low cost of living were all reasons people were "flocking to the Sun City."
Education was also considered as a factor thanks to UTEP's programs, and several Fortune 500 companies called El Paso home.
The top three cities included New Orleans, La., Gainesville, Fla. and Fargo, N.D.
