EL PASO (KDBC) — Many people went to Cielo Vista Mall in east El Paso to catch Black Friday deals.
"When I pulled in the parking lot here, I was like, ‘Wow. There's a lot of people here,’” said Donald Wonder.
Cars packed the parking lot at Cielo Vista Mall early Black Friday.
"It was a lot more people than I expected. Parking was pretty crazy," said Ashley Buschardt.
All shoppers were hoping to score some big deals and save a lot of cash. Wonder said he's already saved at least one hundred dollars.
"These deals are incredible. I’ve already gotten like a whole load in the car already, bags full of clothes and new stuff," said Wonder.
Many El Pasoans have made Black Friday shopping a family tradition, like sisters Karina Perez and Irma Hernandez who come ready lists in hands.
"It's like our tradition. It's our sister time," said Perez. "This is our eleventh year and so we always come out and we shop and we got our lists and it's a lot of fun."
"It's kind of a tradition… My son and I, and this is the first time my husband joins us in a couple of years," said Maggie Eckhart.
Like others, Eckhart was a little disappointed.
“The sales aren't always great," said Eckhart.
"We’re hoping to find some good sales but it wasn't very much," said Buschardt.
But others were still excited to rank in the savings.
“I’m a little tired but I can't beat the deals, right," said Wonder.
Cielo Vista Mall will close at 10 p.m. Friday.
