EL PASO (KDBC) — Two people were stabbed early Saturday morning after a man became irate while waiting for a cab, according to El Paso Police.
Investigators told NewsChannel 9 the incident happened around 3:25 a.m. outside of the Rock House bar on the 9800 block of Montana, near McRae in East El Paso.
43-year-old Juan Ulloa was arrested at the scene and has been charged with two counts of Assault with a Deadly Weapon and one count of misdemeanor Assault
Police said a bar customer, 26-year-old Steven Martinez, observed one of the employees, 23-year-old Andrea Schweitz, arguing with Ulloa.
Investigators said when Martinez tried to intervene, Ulloa stabbed him in the chest with a knife.
EPPD said Ulloa then punched another bar employee, 22-year-old Alyssa Estrada, in the face.
Schweitz then stepped in, according to investigators, and was cut on her left arm.
Police said Schweitz had observed Ulloa to be highly intoxicated and had called a taxicab to take him home. They said Ulloa became impatient while waiting.
Schweitz, Estrada and Martinez were taken the hospital with what investigators believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
Ulloa was booked into the El Paso County jail under bonds totaling $11,500.
