EL PASO — UPDATE: A Clint family was resting after emergency crews rescued them from a trail near the Wyler Tramway.
The family started their hike at about 3:45 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
They called 911 two hours later saying they needed help down the mountain after the mother had sprained her ankle.
The family was in an extremely treacherous and steep part of the trail when paramedics arrived.
Crews helped the 38-year-old mother, 43-year-old father and 9-year-old daughter to safety at about midnight.
The mother was taken to a hospital for treatment.
The father and daughter were not hurt.
ORIGINAL STORY: A family of three was safe after emergency crews rescued them from a trail near the Wyler Tramway.
The family called 911 at about 5:45 p.m. saying they needed help down the trail.
A search and rescue team found a 38-year-old woman, 40-year-old man and a 9-year-old child at about 7:15 p.m. and helped them to safety just before 10 p.m.
The woman sprained her ankle.
Paramedics checked out the family.
