El Paso, Texas (KDBC) — A fast moving fire forced one El Pasoan out of their home Monday night. It happened just before 8:30 on the 400 block of Joseph Street.
El Paso Fire Department was dispatched to the scene and upon arrival, found heavy smoke coming from inside the trailer home. No one was inside the home at the time, and the resident of the trailer came home to find his home fully engulfed in flames.
Eight units and 22 firefighters responded to the scene; they were able to extinguish the majority of the fire within fifteen minutes.
A fire investigator determined the fire was caused by an electrical failure from a cord pinned underneath furniture in the home. The home is considered a total loss and damages are estimated at $20,000.
