SANTA FE, N.M. — Governor Susana Martinez wants to remind New Mexicans 50 and older about a program that can help them find work which will be holding an event Thursday in Santa Fe.
The Aging Department will hold an event at noon at the Santa Fe 50+ Employment Connection Center with staff and volunteers on hand to help people with their job search needs.
“The program also works with employers to create awareness about the value of mature workers,” Governor Martinez said.
The 50+ Employment Connection at the Aging and Long-Term Services Department provides general job search assistance for anyone 50 years and older. Staff and volunteers can help polish resumes, develop “networking” cards, and help with interview skills and computer tutoring.
Governor Martinez has proclaimed the week of September 22 – September 28 as New Mexico – Employ Older Workers Week, to coincide with National Older Worker’s Week.
