Supporters of legalizing medical marijuana in Kansas wanted their voices to be heard.

The group Kansas for Change, Inc. sponsored a rally at the state capitol. Organizers said they want to add Kansas to the list of states that allow legal access to marijuana with a doctors recommendation.

Esau Freeman with Kansas for Change, Inc. said, "If you're concerned about drug use, you should deal with it the way we have smoking. You should reduce, put out campaigns to reduce use and make people be responsible, but putting people in prison and trying to legislate your particular brand of morality is not what the people of Kansas have asked for and that's not what we're going to stand for."

Bills supporting the legalization of medical marijuana have been introduced in the State House and Senate. So far, no hearings are scheduled.
