Tuesday, March 5, 2013 - 12:58am

Now you have the chance.

There are still openings for the upcoming Citizen's Police Academies that begin in April and run through May.

There will be one program in English and another for Spanish speakers.

The classes will rotate to various police facilities to allow students to see the training facilities and a regional command, however most classes will be held at Police Headquarters located at 911 N. Raynor.

Classes will meet every Monday and Wednesday and on two Saturday mornings.

Participants will have an opportunity to experience a ride along with a patrol officer and ask questions to our top investigators of our high profile units.

Among those high profile units will be presentations from our SWAT Team, Crisis Negotiations, Canine and Bomb Squad.

Applications can be picked up at all Police Regional Commands as well as at Police Headquarters.

Application deadline is March 15, 2013.

For more information please call 564-7322 or 680-6546.
