EL PASO — January 27 is International Holocaust Remembrance Day, a memorial day for the six million Jews killed in Europe.
The El Paso Holocaust Museum offered special tours Sunday.
January 27 marks the day when Holocaust survivors were freed from Germany's largest Nazi death camp in 1945.
Although it's been decades, the museum's docent, or educator, Rick Armour, said the Holocaust teaches a message that is still important today.
"Not only does this museum teach people about the Holocaust, but we also teach people about tolerance, and that's a very important thing because one of the key reasons for the Holocaust was intolerance," said Armour.
Docent said the El Paso Holocaust Museum teaches student groups about tolerance as a way to prevent bullying.
