Investigators blame ammonium nitrate for West explosion

Investigators say ammonium nitrate stored at the fertilizer plant in West, Texas exploded however, they still don't know what triggered the blast.

The fertilizer plant's general manager says he has no idea why the ammonium nitrate blew up.

14 people were killed and dozens of homes and buildings were damaged or destroyed by the explosion.

It registered as a magnitude 1.2 earthquake and was felt 50 miles away.
