Austin, Texas (Texas Tribune) — A fight to stop new abortion regulations from taking effect in Texas is now in the hands of a judge. Both sides presented their final arguments Wednesday in an Austin court. Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers are trying to block two provisions lawmakers approved in July arguing they're unconstitutional.
One would require doctors who perform abortions to have admitting privileges at a hospital within 30 miles of the facility. The other would require that doctors follow an FDA regimen for drug induced abortions. According to our partners with the Texas Tribune, U.S. District Judge Lee Yeakel today promised a quick judgement.
