LAS CRUCES, N.M. (KDBC) — The murder trial of Eugene "Gino" Ferri continued Tuesday in Las Cruces.
Ferri is accused of killing 69-year-old Gilles Delisle, his wife 72-year-old Helga Delisle and their friend and business partner 68-year-old Peter Weith at their Mesilla home in April of 2010.
The murders happened the day before Gilles Delisle was scheduled to appear in a court regarding property belonging to Ferri that was to be sold to pay off a debt.
The state said they have evidence from a witness and bullet casings that were recovered at the scene from a gun Ferri owned.
The defense said it was impossible for Ferri to commit the murders due to time-stamped receipts of various purchases he made around town at the same time the couple and their business partner were murdered.
