At least one adult and 11 children were injured, some seriously, when a vehicle was pushed into a Florida day care center by a Dodge Durango, which then fled the scene, authorities said Wednesday.

John Mulhall, a spokesman for the Orange County Fire Rescue Department, said 11 children and one adult were transported to hospitals.

The victims have a wide variety of injuries, Mulhall said.

Officials with the Florida Highway Patrol said they were looking for a silver or gray Dodge Durango, which struck another vehicle from behind, sending it into the Winter Park day care center.

The Durango is missing a front bumper, Trooper Wanda Diaz said.

Another trooper, who didn't identify herself, said some of the injuries were "very, very serious."
