Man arrested after rappelling from bridge

border patrol agents have arrested a man in connection with a murder case from New Brunswick, New Jersey.

Marco Antonio Miranda-DeJesus was apprehended Monday night after Border Patrol agents say he made a desperate attempt to enter the country illegally from Mexico.

Agents arrested Miranda after he rappelled off the Stanton Street Bridge and took off running.

Record checks show Miranda had a long list of active warrants including murder in the first degree, attempted murder in the first degree, second degree aggravated assault, first degree gang criminality, second degree conspiracy and unlawful possession of a weapon.

Miranda was charged with illegal entry and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility to await extradition to New Jersey.
