EL PASO (KDBC) — A man is in the hospital with serious injuries after someone stabbed him Wednesday morning.
When Local 4 News got to the scene on Gilbert and Lafayette, the man was sitting in an ambulance covered in blood with at least one stab wound to the right side of his abdomen.
He was conscious and police said he walked into the ambulance himself.
Police on the scene told us they believe the stabbing happened somewhere else and the victim drove his pickup truck to an alley outside a place where he may work just before 1 a.m. Wednesday.
They said he called his girlfriend, and when she got there, she ran to a gas station about a block away and flagged down a police officer.
Officers found the victim standing near a house close to his truck.
Police said the man was being uncooperative and did not want paramedics to take him to the hospital. They finally rushed him to Del Sol Medical Center with serious injuries.
