CNN — Authorities arrested dozens of people in a major Medicare fraud bust spanning eight cities.
The U.S. Justice Department says 89 people, including doctors and nurses, stole a total of $223 million from tax payer-funded programs.
The Medicare fraud strike force carried out the bust.
Officials say they arrested 25-people in Miami.
Three suspects in Detroit allegedly made $12 million dollars by posing as doctors.
Charges were also levied against suspects in Louisiana, Houston, Los Angeles, Tampa, Chicago and Brooklyn.
