Monday marks the one-year anniversary since a gunman opened fire at a Sikh temple in Wisconsin killing six people.

A memorial honoring the victims was held at the US Federal Court House in Milwaukee on Friday.

Family members, friends and members of the community gathered to remember those lost.

They also call on lawmakers to pass legislation in an effort to curb gun violence nationwide.

On Friday, Attorney General Eric Holder announced the FBI would begin tracking hate crimes committed against religious groups, including Sikhs.

The suspected shooter, white supremacist Wade Michael Page, took his own life following the attack.
