El Paso, Texas (KDBC) — More security will be placed around county schools.
On Monday, El Paso County commissioners court approved a tentative agreement with the Canutillo, San Elizario and Clint School District 's to accept a federal grant that will place a total of 10 sheriff's deputies in the schools over the next 4 years.
This grant will be matched with $1.5 million from the school districts, as well as $218,000 from El Paso County for a total of $2.9 million.
This program can begin as soon as April 1st.
