EL PASO — As many children make their Christmas lists for Santa, they usually include things like toys, games and electronics, but for some less fortunate children, the item at the top of their list is a warm pair of shoes.
That is why Lyzza Campos with Mt. Carmel Funeral Home in East El Paso has started a program called, "Happy Feet 4 Kids."
The program is targeted at elementary school age children whose families may not be able to afford a pair of shoes that fit.
"I just want them to be happy because if any of you have every warn tight shoes, it's not very comfortable. For them, it's just running in them, just enjoying their shoes and feeling warm feet, warm, happy feet," said Campos.
If you would like to donate a new pair of shoes, they can be dropped off at Mt. Carmel Funeral Home located at 1755 N. Zaragoza. Sizes 11-6 1/2 will be accepted until December 17.
To nominate a child to receive a new pair of shoes, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
