CNN — Fast food giant Burger King is beefing up its breakfast menu with some unusual additions. A spokeswoman said the chain is launching a new program at 5,000 of its restaurants. It's called "burgers at breakfast."
The new menu features a variety of Whopper sandwiches, cheeseburgers and chicken sandwiches as well as French fries and apple pie. Burger King is also testing a chicken and waffle sandwich.
The new menu announcement comes as fast food restaurants duke it out to dominate the breakfast arena.
