We could see milk get a lot more expensive. That's because Congress still hasn't passed a Farm Bill to renew subsidies for dairy and other commodities. Lawmakers have until the end of the year to reach a deal.
If they don't we could see milk prices hit seven-dollars a gallon! A key sticking point holding up the bill is funding for food stamps. House Republicans want to make changes that would drop nearly four-million people from food stamps next year.
Senate Democrats aren't keen on making these cuts. Republicans say their proposed reforms would close loopholes and stop people who shouldn't be getting food stamps from getting them.
