As part of National Nurse's Week, one borderland nurse is being honored for her quick thinking that saved her nephew's life.

Teresa Cano, a nurse at the Children's Hospital at Providence, was awarded the Tenet Heroes award Wednesday.

Last year, her nephew was found face down in a pool and jumped into action to revive him through CPR.

"I just started crying and fell to my knees and started praying," said Cano. "... In a split second then Nurse Teresa kicked in and then I just started helping my husband with the CPR," she said, which lasted 7 minutes while first responders arrived.

"Thank God I do what I do."

Earlier this year, Cano also received the El Paso Fire Dept.'s Citation Award for her heroics.
