It all happened the afternoon of Wednesday, July 31st at the Payless shoe store on Dyer.

Police say a man walked into the store and over to the checkout, where he threatened a store clerk with a handgun and demanded cash from the register. The man then took off with an undisclosed amount of money.

"We have a lot of people around here. A lot of different businesses in the area, so we know somebody knows something. Somebody saw something. We need them to give us a call right away," said Javier Sambrano with the El Paso Police Department.

The man was captured on surveillance camera. He is described as being about 5'11'' tall, with a thin build, short hair on the sides and long brown hair on top.
