POLICE: Socorro Man Suffers Serious Facial Injuries in Dog Attack

UPDATE - A man has lost his ear and part of his nose following a vicious attack by several pitbulls.  He's in serious, but stable condition tonight.  Neighbors said his dog died following the attack.

Socorro Police have ticketed Maria Stephenson, who owns the dogs that attacked the Socorro man, for failure to control her pitbulls. 

Neighbors say the pitbulls have gotten loose from Stevenson's yard several times in the past.  According to Socorro Spokesperson David Garcia, the pitbulls got under their fence and attacked a man and his dog.  Neighbors said the man was homeless.

The man suffers from dog bites to the face and head.  The dogs also attacked and killed the man's dog.

SOCORRO — A Socorro man was attacked by at least 5 dogs in Socorro, police confirmed Friday afternoon.

Officials tell News Channel 9 he was taken to hospital with serious injuries to the face. We have a crew is en route. Tune in to our 6pm newscast for latest.
