President Obama cancels trip to Asia-Pacific Economic Summit

With the government shutdown as his top priority, President Obama has canceled his trip to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit in Bali, Indonesia.

He sent Secretary of State John Kerry in his place. Kerry arrived in Bali Friday for the summit and is leading the U.S. delegation.

According to its website, the mission of the APEC is to "support sustainable economic growth and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region."
