Public hearings scheduled for billboard restrictions

Billboards in New Mexico will be the topic of two public hearings to discuss proposed rule changes.

The Department of Transportation wants to establish standards for all outdoor advertising that will include electronic messages, changes in fees and permits.

The first hearing is scheduled for October 18, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the NMDOT’s District 3 Auditorium, located at 7500 Pan American Blvd. in Albuquerque.

A second hearing is scheduled for October 21, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 p.m. at the Dona Ana County Commission chambers, located at the Dona Ana County Government Center, 845 N. Motel Blvd. in Las Cruces.

Interested parties can present their views by written statements received on or before October 25 by the NMDOT at P.O. Box 1149, SB 4, 2nd Floor, Santa Fe, New Mexico 87504-1149.
