Recycling not to be collected on windy days

Monday, April 8, 2013 - 4:52pm

The City of El Paso Environmental Services Dept. is asking El Pasoans to not put out their recycling bins on windy days.

If wind gusts reach or exceed 40 mph, homeowners should wait until their next scheduled pick-up day to place their blue recycling bins out for collection to avoid wind-blown debris.

Local 4 News Chief Meteorologist Robert Bettes says wind gusts could reach 60 mph Monday night into Tuesday morning.
