Spanning nearly 20 acres, Yucca Park in the lower valley has new grass, trees, landscaping and a jogging path.
However, there is one feature that is grabbing El Pasoans attention after the cement was recently poured. The park will house a 2,000 square-foot chess playing area that will include two-tone checkered cement slab to resemble a chess board.
The more than $1 million in improvements is thanks to the 2012 Quality-of-Life Bonds and should be complete by August.
