Senate confirms permanent ATF Chief

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has its first permanent director since 2006.

The Senate has confirmed Obama appointee B. Todd Jones by a vote of 53 to 42. Jones has served as ATF's acting director since the fall of 2011.

In addition to serving as AFT Director, the 56-year-old Jones also currently serves as a U.S. Attorney in Minnesota.
