A New Mexico wildfire is continuing to spread. The Silver Fire now spans 6,700 acres.

The fire is burning in rugged terrain making it extremely difficult for firefighters to tackle.

The wildfire is six miles west of Kingston, New Mexico. Kingston is currently under a mandatory evacuation.

More than 350 firefighters are currently battling the fire, but because there are several other wildfires in the state, firefighters have a limited amount of resources to fight the blaze.

The Silver Fire was sparked by lightning Friday, June 7th.
