Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott will be in El Paso as part of his campaign for Texas governor.

Abbott is considered the front runner to gain the republican nomination after Governor Rick Perry announced that he would not seek re-election.

Abbott was partially paralyzed 29 years ago when a falling oak tree crushed his back while jogging.

He recovered from the accident and was first elected attorney general of Texas in 2002.

He'll be at the Tony Lama Factory at 10:30 a.m. Thursday morning for a meet and greet.

You had to reserve your spot online in order to attend.
