Austin, Texas (KDBC) — U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius visited a Texas health center Friday and met with counselors who help people sign up for the Affordable Care Act.
Sebelius, who is on the road promoting the federal health care overhaul, also met with two people from Austin who after some difficulty were able to enroll in the program.
She acknowledged the new website is "far from optimal" and still isn't working smoothly but assured everyone "it is getting better."
"Healthcare.gov, the website, is far from perfect. It is getting better everyday but we have every intent to not stop until it is smoothly operating for the large volume of people who really want to use the website," she said. "We want it to be as smoothly operating marketplace for every American who really needs affordable healthcare. It doesn't operate that way now. It's far from being optimum, and we won't stop until it is."
