Southern Hemisphere- On November 13, 2012, the moon blocked the sun in a total solar eclipse.
El Pasoans didn't really notice because it happened in parts of Australia and the Southern Pacific Ocean. This was the only total solar eclipse of 2012 and it began at 1:35 MST on Tuesday. The path of totality was about 108 miles wide and 9,000 miles long and it covered a three-hour period.
